Are these cigars rolled by a rugged cowboy in the wild west or crafted in the Dominican Republic with quality tobacco?
The truth is they are made in the Dominican Republic using premium tobacco that has been aged for at least 12 months, bringing out its natural sweetness before being infused with a delicious flavor.
The Backwoods cigars were first introduced nationally in 1981 and were an instant hit. Their distinctive appearance – “WILD & MILD” as it was known – with a frayed end, tapered body, and unfinished head, had great appeal to cigar connoisseurs.
In contrast to modern cigars that are tightly rolled for specific shapes, often causing uneven compression of the tobacco, our Backwoods are loosely rolled with even pressure. This results in a rustic-looking cigar that draws smoothly and evenly while delivering plenty of flavor.
