The Vigia is a highly-anticipated addition to the renowned Trinidad line. With its bold flavors and impressive ring gauge, it is sure to become a fan favorite.
The name Trinidad pays homage to Santísima Trinidad, a historic town in Cuba that has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. This brand represents the rich heritage and tradition of Cuban cigars.
The origins of Trinidad as a Habanos brand can be traced back to 1969. It was initially reserved for gifts to foreign diplomats, but in 1998 it became available worldwide in limited quantities.
Vuelta Abajo tobacco zone in Pinar del Río is where Trinidad cigars are now produced with the utmost care and attention to detail. This ensures that each cigar maintains its exceptional quality and exclusivity.
In addition to its original vitola, Fundadores, the brand expanded its range with Reyes, Coloniales, and Robusto Extra in 2003. A new modern image was also introduced at this time. In 2009, Trinidad Robustos T joined the lineup.
In recent years, two popular vitolas – Robusto Extra and Robustos T – were discontinued. But now, at the XVI Habanos Festival, we are excited to introduce Vigía – Vitola de Galera -Factory Name- Torres (54 x 110 mm) – to fill this void and delight Trinidad enthusiasts.
The names of these vitolas transport us to the beautiful city of Trinidad and its surrounding areas. The watchtowers that once stood to oversee sugar cane plantations inspired the names.
Trinidad Vigía comes in a classic Semi Boîte Nature (SBN) varnished box, containing 12 units. This short, heavy ring gauge cigar offers a unique way to experience the distinctive flavors of Trinidad.
About Trinidad Cigars
The history of Trinidad as a Habanos brand dates back to 1969 when it was exclusively produced for foreign diplomats. It wasn’t until 1998 that it was released for general sale. These cigars were originally made at El Laguito, the Cohiba factory, using the Tripa Larga, Totalmente a Mano technique with filler and binder leaves from Vuelta Abajo tobacco zone.
